You’ve heard of physical first aid, but what happens when the crisis isn’t visible?Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is exactly what it sounds like: practical help for someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis, delivered by everyday people like you.
What Is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid is a nationally accredited training that teaches you how to recognise the signs of mental health problems, respond appropriately, and connect someone with the support they need. You don’t need to be a psychologist. You just need the willingness to show up and the confidence to handle it well.
What Does the Course Cover?
How to identify common mental health conditions
What to do in a mental health crisis, such as suicidal thoughts or panic attacks
How to start supportive conversations
Where and how to refer someone to professional help
How to look after yourself while supporting others
Who Is It For?
Literally everyone. I’ve trained:
Teachers
Construction workers
Nurses
Managers
Parents
Coaches
HR teams
Everyday community members
If you interact with people, you’re in the right place.
Why Is It So Important?
Because most people freeze or say the wrong thing when someone opens up about their mental health.MHFA gives you a simple, evidence-based action plan so you don’t have to wing it.This course can help you save a life or simply show up better for someone you care about.
